The FleetGO vehicle inspection app allows drivers and fleet managers to conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections conveniently through their mobile devices.
This app allows users to meticulously record record and document any damages, defects, or issues, including capturing photos and adding relevant comments. By doing so, it ensures that vehicles are maintained in optimal working condition and enables timely identification of maintenance or repair needs.
The FleetGO Vehicle Inspection app is available for download on both IOS and Android. Please find the download links below.

To utilize the Vehicle inspection please follow the three steps below. After completing these steps you are ready to start using the app.
1. Create an Inspection Sheet
To begin, an inspection sheet must be created within the FleetGO web application. Please refer to our Help Center article Web Application Vehicle Inspection for detailed instructions on creating an inspection sheet.
2. Set up user accounts
Next, set up user accounts for the drivers. There is a specific role available which can be assigned to the user accounts: 'Vehicle inspector'.
3. Ready to use
Once the inspection sheet been implemented and the user accounts have been set up with the appropriate roles, you are ready to use the Vehicle Inspection App.
Using the App
Using the app is simple and intuitive. Here's what you need to fill in on the first page:
- Administration (vehicle registration)
- Option to select a trailer (applicable for truck and trailer combinations)
- Current mileage of the vehicle
- Selection of the inspection sheet
- Location where the driver performed the walkaround (optional)
Administration
To select your preferred vehicle, simply click on the administration bar. Customers using either the FleetGO Remote Download and/or Tracking device will be able to select the vehicle immediately.
However, if you are solely using the FleetGO Vehicle Inspection solution or would like to perform the Vehicle Inspection for a vehicle without a FleetGO device, you will need to add the administration manually either through the web-based FleetGO portal or via the Vehicle Inspection App itself.
This process of doing this through the web-based portal is being described in the Web Application Vehicle Inspection article. Below you can read about adding administrations via the Vehicle Inspection App.
Vehicle Inspection App
1. Select the + (add) button next to the administration bar.
2. Enter the vehicle registration details and description of the vehicle.
3. Choose the vehicle type: Car symbol for a light vehicle, Truck symbol for a heavy vehicle.
Bike, Trailer and Equipment are quite obvious in this case.
4. Add the vehicle by clicking on 'Add'.
The administration is now added in the App and visible for every App user. In addition, the vehicle will be visible in the Administration overview on the web-based portal.
In the below screen recording, we show an example of how to add a Truck and Trailer manually.
The same process applies to adding a Car, Van, Bike, Equipment, etc.
Trailer
In the transport business, trailers are commonly used, and the FleetGO Vehicle Inspection app offers the capability to inspect trailers as well.
To select your desired trailer, mark the tick box, transforming it from grey to green. This will enable you to choose any trailer you need. Customers utilizing the FleetGO Trailer Tracking device can instantly select their trailer. However, if you are not using this device, you will need to add the trailer manually either though the web-based FleetGO portal or via the Vehicle Inspection App itself.
Same as for vehicles, the process for adding it through the web-based portal is being described in the Web Application Vehicle Inspection article.
In the above section, we show how to manually add a trailer via the Vehicle Inspection itself.
Mileage
Drivers are required to fill in the accurate mileage, as it is a mandatory field. Customers using a FleetGO device will have the mileage automatically recorded. However, if a FleetGO device is not in use, driver must manually provide the mileage information.
Inspection sheet
Selecting the inspection sheet is also mandatory. Choose the sheet that corresponds to your specific inspection requirements.
Location
The FleetGO App has the capability to display the precise location where the driver conducted the inspection. Sharing this location is optional and solely depends on whether you permit the FleetGO app to access your mobile phone's location settings.
You are now ready to begin the inspection process.
Page lay-out
The vehicle inspection app is designed to be highly user-friendly for drivers. At the top of the page, drivers can easily identify the type of vehicle they need to inspect, whether it's a truck, trailer or light vehicle. Each type is indicated by a grey symbol.
The app is designed for efficiency, so drivers do not need to necessarily click anything by default. A green tick box signifies that there are no defects to report. However, once the driver clicks on the tick box, it changes colour from green to red, indicating an alert for a found defect. In such cases, the driver can provide further clarity by adding a photo or comment, allowing seamless communication with their manager.
The driver will navigate through every page of the inspection until reaching the final page: the signature. Signing this page serves as confirmation that the driver agrees with all information entered. Upon clicking the 'send list' button, the inspection results will be saved, and the inspection will be completed.
Result
Similar to the web application, the inspection results are accessible in the FleetGO App. This feature proves highly useful when drivers are required to present their vehicle inspection history to the DVSA during road inspections.
By clicking on the icon, drivers can access their history and generate a report by clicking on the cloud icon
