This article covers information about deactivating a FleetGO device. Whenever a vehicle is no longer in use or you wish to deactivate it please read through this article to understand the meaning of deactivating a device.
Deactivation can't be undone
If a device is deactivated at your request this can't be undone. You will be informed about this when you send in your request.
Difference between buy and lease
Buy: If you have purchased the device we can deactivate this over the air. The device doesn't have to be removed physically.
Lease: If you have chosen for the leasing model, please return the device(s) to*:

How to deactivate a device?
You can deactivate a device for a specific vehicle or by device ID within the FleetGO platform. Only Administrators are able to deactivate a device! To deactivate a device please follow the next steps:
- Login at FleetGO
- Click at top right on your name
- Go to My Account
- Choose button Request termination
- Choose if you want to deactivate by licence plate number or device ID.
- Termination date has to be at least one day in the future (keep in mind that you have one month notice period). It could be that you will be invoiced for another month.
- Buy: please select the option to block the hardware.
Lease: please select the option to return the hardware.
In case of lease; if you are not able to return the device(s), FleetGO will charge a replacement fee which has been signed for in the agreement.
- Please let us know the reason for deactivation.
- Click Save
- Click OK for confirmation
Your request for deactivation is send to FleetGO. Our staff will follow-up and approve the request.
You will receive a confirmation email after approval.
