If you want to further automate FleetGO, you can create a location. This is recommended for addresses that you visit frequently. By setting locations, data is automatically entered for every visit.

Add location directly from the map

  1. Navigate to Map
  2. Click at the location on your map, the location will be added to this point
  3. Choose: AddLocation
  4. Follow steps at Create Locations, mentioned below, from step three.

Tip: You can also add a location directly from the overview Map

Create locations

  1. Navigate to Production and click on Locations.
  2. Click on New.
  3. Enter as much information as possible for the justification of your trip, do not forget the tab Details.
  4. Select the right Type (Business, Office, Residence, Private or Gas station). Trips from and to the address will then be given the right type automatically.
  5.  Pay extra attention to Location kind. This is the range of the location. For example, if you park in a parking space near the address, the address is filled in automatically and you prevent inaccuracies in your administration.
  6. You can enter an address with a round radius on the map of, for example, 10 or 50 meters. For this you choose Radius in the drop-down menu behind Location kind. Note that the radius is not too big when you have multiple locations in the same environment.
  7. You can also draw an area on the map yourself. You can define an area using the provided sign tools. This Geofencing ensures that you accurately create an area. To do this, choose Geofence in the drop-down menu behind Location kind.
  8. Click Save
Note: The locations are not processed retroactively. Additionally, ensure that the radius or geofence you set is not too small and falls within the parking range of the vehicles

Type

As explained in step 4 in the above mentioned guidelines the type of location specifies the trip kind within FleetGO automatically. Please have a look at the table below to understand this completely.

Type  Trip type within FleetGO
Business Business
Office Business
Residence Commute
Private Private
Gas Station Business
Trips to and from a private location are always marked as private despite the start/end type of location

Examples

To clarify the above even further have a look at this table. It will show some examples of trips and the trip kind which it will generate within FleetGO. Note that these work vice versa.

From location To location Trip Kind within FleetGO
Residence Office Commute
Business Office Business
Private Office Private
Gas Station Office Business
Office Private Private
Residence To the office with stop at a business location Business
Office To the office with stop at a private location Private
Office To the office with stop at a Gas Station Business
If you use a Private switch in your vehicles the private setting overrules the location settings. The business setting on the switches does follow the location settings.
Create locations manually, via the Map or by importing your file
